Hi Folks, The policy of the Putnam Valley Children's Center when the PV schools cancel all after school activities is to remain open until 5 PM However, after last evening I am rethinking this policy My staff and I were at the Centers until 7:30 pm last evening due to parents arriving late because of the inclement weather

My primary job with the Town of Putnam Valley is to make sure your children are safe at all times However, my secondary job is the safety of my staff and last evening their safety was put in jepordary

I understand that the weather and driving conditions were awful However, you were all aware of the Children's Centers close time at 10:30 in the morning Alternative pick up arrangements must be and SHOULD HAVE been made for yesterday

FOR NOW, the policy will remain that the Children's Center will close at 5 pm if all after school activities are cancelled However, if we are unable to close at 5 PM due to late pick ups, the policy will change immediately!!!
